East Coast School

Wow what a week! I have spent the majority of the past week down in Raleigh at the East Coast School (ECS) with nature photographer Tony Sweet. East Coast School is an intense week long school that is an affiliated with Professional Photographers of America and Professional Photographers of North Carolina. This was my second year getting to go and it was also the second year in a row I had won a scholarship for the school. This year I won a scholarship from Midwest Photo. Thanks so much to Stu and everyone at Midwest for allowing me to attend this wonderful week.

And it was a wonderful week. The only negative was the heat. We were up before dawn every morning, but even then it was terrible out there due to the heat. Tony and Sue were wonderful as usual and we had the very best class. We all had so much fun. I learned some new techniques, enriched my photography soul and made some really great new friends. The image here is one I created during the week.

After I left ECS on Thursday, my exhibit opening at the Jailhouse Gallery in Morganton was Friday night. It was incredible. I got to see many old friends that I have not seen in a while and met so many nice people. I really appreciate everyone that was able to come out to the opening. If you were not able to make the opening then be sure to stop by there some time this month. The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday 9-5 and the exhibit will be on display through the month of August.
